Hi, I'm Alok VasishtaLead UX & BuilderBengaluru, IN.

I design &actually shipcomplex products.

Lead UX with 14 years across enterprise SaaS, mobile and a brief detour through 3D + VFX. I find problems worth solving, design the thing, and then — this is the unusual part — build & ship it.

— A non-linear career

A non-linear career.

Alok Vasishta with his two daughters

I got into UX through QA — not an MFA. Spent years breaking software before I started designing it, which turns out to be an unusually useful superpower.

Ten-plus years shipping enterprise and platform UX (PayPal, ServiceNow, EPAM) with a detour through 3D at Zynga. Product-minded: design systems, ambiguous briefs turned into shippable flows, and lately AI-native patterns where they earn trust.

I learned to code after my elder daughter was born — wanted to build her things before I knew what shipping one actually meant. A few years and a younger sister later, both of them are still my first users.

Non-UX experience

2010

QA Engineer · E4E

Manual and automation testing first—learned how software breaks before designing it.

2012

3D Artist · Zynga

Built and optimized 3D assets for live titles—tight loops with designers and hard mobile performance budgets.

The Pivot

2013

VFX & Motion Graphics · Media Design School

Spent time in Auckland studying VFX and motion graphics at MDS — compositing, visual design, color theory, and storytelling from some of the best. Came back with a sharper eye for hierarchy, timing, and craft; accidentally built a website as a freelance project, found familiar things in UX, and returned to namma Bengaluru to pursue a design career.

UX experience

2015

UX Designer · Product & Enterprise UX

Seven years (2015–22) across logistics, enterprise ERP, and global merchant flows — DreamOrbit, Cognizant, Epicor, and PayPal. Sharpened wireframe-to-ship discipline through Agile cadence, design systems, and steady user research.

Curiosity + Learn + Apply
2022

Senior Product Designer · ServiceNow

Delivered a high-impact application within ServiceNow ITSM ecosystem, leading the UX from concept to MVP as the founding designer. Later, collaborated briefly on core AI platform design, shaping enterprise-grade generative workflows.

++ Strategy + Lead
2025

Lead Product Designer · EPAM

Insurance platform: end-to-end journeys from onboarding through claims. Currently working on a very interesting, high-impact project (strict NDA). Also managing a small team of young, creative designers.

— Process

How I work.

Process diagram: understand the system, frame the problem, explore, build and ship, iterate with feedback.

01

Understand the system

I start with the constraints — technical, business, human. Good design doesn't ignore them; it works within them.

02

Frame the right problem

Most teams solve the stated problem. I spend time making sure it's the actual problem worth solving.

03

Explore the space

Fast, divergent, low-fidelity. Many ideas quickly. Kill the weak ones early.

04

Build & ship

I design in code where possible. Prototypes that run, not prototypes that pretend.

05

Iterate with data

User feedback, planned backlog items, gut instinct — in that order. Ship, measure, repeat.
